Mustard Mashed Potatoes
Creamy mashed potatoes with mustard, butter, and black pepper.
A simple, comforting mashed potato recipe with a gentle mustard kick. Smooth, rich, and easy to pair with stews and roasts.
Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 200 ml milk or cream, warmed
- 1-2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp butter
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Place the potatoes in a pot and cover with cold salted water.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, until fork-tender.
- Drain well, then return the potatoes to the hot pot for 1-2 minutes to steam-dry.
- Add the warm milk or cream, mustard, butter, and black pepper.
- Mash until smooth and creamy. Add a splash more liquid if needed.
- Taste and season with salt and extra pepper.
